Canandaigua host 4-H Tractor Safety Course

On Thursday 2/13, Canandaigua Monroe Tractor hosted an annual 4-H Tractor Safety class. The Cornell Cooperative Extension sponsored event teaches youth, ages 14-15, how to safely operate agriculture equipment. This is just one of the eight week series of classes that helps participants seeking employment on farms get the certification needed to do so.

Chris Stewart and Chris Roeland led the classroom session where they discussed safety while operating farm equipment. Steve Knopf led the Case IH cab simulator and spoke to the level of technology in todays tractors. Lastly, Bob Linehan walk student around the equipment and reviewed daily maintenance and safety with the equipment. All students were able to explore the various machines and ask questions.

We always enjoy supporting the local 4-H youth and the Cornell Cooperative Extension.
